NEMC Jazz Intensive Questionnaire 2021
Thank you for your interest in the NEMC Jazz Intensive. THE JAZZ INTENSIVE at NEMC is the quintessential program for the high school student seeking serious study of Jazz. The program is a two-week intensive that dives into the traditional Big Band era, Contemporary Jazz, small ensembles and theory. Led by some of the top jazz educators and performers in the Jazz scene, the daily schedule for the 30 chosen students will involve private lessons, large and small ensemble rehearsals and will conclude with a Gala performance! The Jazz Intensive is coordinated by New York City based trumpeter, Wayne J. du Maine
Audition requirements: two contrasting standard jazz pieces. Videos should be uploaded as unlisted files to YouTube. Later in the process, students may be asked to also submit excerpts with provided recordings which will be sent by the NEMC Registrar. Acceptance to the Jazz Intensive will be based on level of playing, instrumentation, teacher recommendation and experience.
Audition, Application, and Questionnaire are due by March 15, 2021.
