AI Governance Hackathon

Columbia Effective Altruism and Roosevelt Institute are excited to welcome you to our first policy hackathon on Artificial Intelligence Governance. The hackathon will be held in person format (at Columbia and Georgia Tech's Exhibition Hall with an online option) from 9 am to 7 pm on Saturday, April 23rd.

You can participate in teams of 1-4 students - forming your groups or sign up to be assigned to a group. Please note: each member of the team should register individually. No prior experience with policy writing or coding is required.

The hackathon will provide panels and workshops led by AI governance experts to help students deepen their understanding of AI governance, effective policy research and writing, and other critical skills.

A winning memo will be judged on three qualities: 1)strength of argument, 2) originality, and 3) usefulness.

The prizes will be as below:
1st place: $300 for each team member
2nd place: $200 for each team member
3rd place: $100 for each team member
