The Scajaquada Corridor Coalition (SCC) promotes and advocates for a comprehensive, community-inspired design alternative for the Scajaquada Creek Corridor.
The Greater Buffalo Niagara Regional Transportation Council (GBNRTC) recently released a “preferred scenario” for the redesign of the 198 Expressway. This scenario reflects much of what the SCC has worked towards and advocated for during the last 8 years. The community response and that of the SCC members has been unified in its support of the current direction of this preferred scenario, however there remains much work ahead.
The current community planning process presents a historic opportunity to restore the historic Olmsted park and parkway system, to revitalize the Scajaquada Creek corridor with enhanced habitats and public access to natural resources, to improve community health outcomes, to reconnect neighborhoods, and to increase economic prosperity for the City of Buffalo.
CALL-TO-ACTION!
This vision will only become a reality with visible, consistent and overwhelming support from our diverse community, neighborhoods, area businesses and organizations. Our elected leaders need to hear from the community! Please add your voice to this letter of support for the GBNRTC's preferred scenario AND let us know which section of the Scajaquada Corridor you would like to stay engaged with.
ABOUT THE FACILITATED DESIGN MEETINGS
These Design meetings aim to bring stakeholders of different sections of the corridor together to identify needs, concerns and recommendations to share with GBNRTC.
