What are Lil Labs?
Lil Labs provides a platform for individuals, schools, and organizations to share local knowledge, culture, tools, experiments, and art within their community. Lil Labs are not just about sharing resources; they are a movement that encourages collaboration, curiosity, and learning. The Lil Lab Network invites you to join in building a future with the power of community-driven science. Explore, discover, and connect with Lil Labs!

What are the expectations of Lil Labs?
1. A Lil Lab supports discovering and teaching things about life and the natural world.
2. Lil Labs contain shared tools and/or items that are low cost, only needed sporadically, and useful.
3. Lil Labs are open to everyone in the community.
4. Lil Labs encourage exploration and self discovery.

What is this grant?
If you are awarded a community grant, you will receive $500 to build your Lil Lab and buy materials to stock it (with additional group funding available). We will ask that you attend three online workshops and provide documentation and assessment of your Lil Lab throughout the next six months. 

Who can apply?
Anyone can apply to join the Lil Lab Network! You don't have to be a scientist. If you are unsure if you would be a good fit, please reach out to admin@lillabs.org and we will help you decide and work with you to submit!

How is this application scored?
We will use this rubric to score grant applications. If you any questions, please reach out!

When is the application due?
The application is due May 31, 2024 at 11:59pm Pacific Time. We will announce the applications we are able to fund by June 15, 2024.
