RSVP to Discover the Legacy of The Rosenwald Schools
Join us as we celebrate Black History Month by sharing the legacy of Julius Rosenwald and his
partnerships with Booker T. Washington and nearly 5,000 African American communities that led to the building of 5,357 Rosenwald School facilities in 15 states. Rosenwald Schools provided the education for one-third of African American children in the South during the first half of the twentieth century and helped change America. We’ll also personal stories from alumni from The Ridgeley and San Domingo Schools in Maryland. Having remained largely intact, the Ridgeley Rosenwald School is one of the best examples of a Rosenwald school in Prince George’s County.
