Motorcycle Awareness Month 2021 - your chance to help
Motorcycle Awareness Month 2021 raises awareness for drivers to lookout for motorcycles on the road. With COVID restrictions we must do motorcycle safety a bit differently this year. The Motorcycle Council of NSW has put together this survey (it should take you 8-10 minutes to complete) to capture motorcyclists experience of drivers’ behaviour that has affected your safety and what can be done to improve safety for you on the road.
We know near misses when on a motorcycle can shake you and can be life threatening. Our aim every year is to reduce this number, to make the roads safer for all our riders. What the committee is trying to ascertain is, what are most of the motorcycle near misses and crashes with drivers, and what drivers could have improved about their driving behaviour to avoid the near miss or crash.
We want to know about the different types of motorcycle riding, heavy city traffic and long regional rides to give a complete picture of what motorcyclists come up against while riding.
We would appreciate it if you could forward the survey link to your motorcyclist family and friends. The more motorcyclists we get the more complete the results and adds credibility to them.
Your survey responses are completely confidential. The aggregated survey results will also be published across print media and in social media advertising.
However, we would also like to personalise some of the results to use during MAM 2021 – to give a face to your comments. At the end of the survey, you will be given an opportunity to give us permission to use your name and photo (you do not have to).
