Asking Our Parents - January 2021
Parents are an important stakeholder in our learning community. We think it is imperative to give parents a voice. Private meetings and School Council can be an important part of this voice, but a simple survey works. Therefore, we are sending out this local survey to get your opinion on a variety of topics. Please take some time to answer this short and simple survey. We will share the results in the spring. Thank you for doing this survey.

Due to the pandemic, we did not do our traditional card fundraiser in September 2020. This fundraiser usually raises close to $10,000 and is used to fund co-curricular activities and school events. Although it is still early, should the school plan to do this fundraiser in September 2021?

We are in the fifth month of our Pandemic Response and School Re-Entry Plan, and I want to thank all the students, staff, and parents for their understanding and support. Our response and plan may not be perfect, but I think it has been a positive start to the school year, given all the variables and requirements. Please note that many factors of our response and plan are either provincial or divisional directives. To help us better understand our Pandemic Response and School Re-entry Plan, please answer this survey question: Please rate FLVT's Pandemic Response and School Re-Entry Plan.

Elementary parents only, please - This year, we started the Balanced School Day approach in Grades 1 to 6. Instead of the traditional recess, lunch, recess structure, students have two longer nutritional breaks. The BSD benefits are longer breaks, fewer transitions, large instructional blocks, fewer behavioural incidents, and dietary needs. As we begin the fifth month of the BSD, do you think it has been beneficial to students?
