The Luxor Collective is a space where black and brown men, of all ages, address their experiences of trauma, grief and loss associated with fertility issues, pregnancy loss and/or infant and maternal morbidity and mortality. The virtual sessions are held bi-weekly, via zoom, and give men a platform to talk about the complexities of the roles that they play in their intimate partnerships and families, as well as, the challenges that they experience as they navigate fatherhood within racist and oppressive systems.
Participants will receive information, support, interventions and referrals, as well as, opportunities to be in community as they process their thoughts, emotions and personal experiences. The sessions include the use of art, experiential and therapeutic activities to activate healing. Participants build their capacity to identify, process and cope with their individual and collective trauma by sharing their experiences, hope and strength within a community of like-minded peers. The series is facilitated by men from various backgrounds and professional disciplines so that a holistic learning and healing space can be co-created.
