Frequently Asked Questions

Why does AMA San Diego give back?
As marketers, we know the power of connection and that extends beyond our industry into the community we live and work in. AMA San Diego is proud to support local causes through volunteer events like this one. It’s part of our mission to not only grow as professionals but also to make a meaningful impact in San Diego. Giving back is how we show up together.

Is this event for AMA San Diego members only?
Yes, this is a members-only volunteer event. If you’re not sure about your membership status, we’ll confirm it on the backend and follow up with you.

Can I bring a friend or colleague?
Sure — as long as they’re a current AMA San Diego member and fill out this form separately so we can verify their membership and send them the registration link.

Can I bring my child or teen to volunteer?
Unfortunately, no — the San Diego Food Bank has a minimum age requirement of 16+ with a chaperone and 18+ without. For this AMA San Diego event, all volunteers must be 18 or older and registered members.

Are spots limited?
Yes — we have a limited number of volunteer spots, and registration is first come, first served. Completing this form helps us verify your membership, but your spot isn’t secured until you register through the Food Bank’s system (you’ll receive a link via email).

Do I need to sign up with the Food Bank separately?
Yes. Once your AMA membership is confirmed, we’ll send you an official registration link to sign up through the Food Bank’s system. This is required to participate and ensures your spot is secured.

I can only come for part of the time, is that okay?
To ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone, we ask that volunteers arrive on time and stay for the full shift (8–11 a.m.).

What if I need to cancel?
Life happens! If you need to cancel, please let us know at least one week in advance so we can offer your spot to someone else.

Important Information from San Diego Food Bank:
  • Volunteers at the San Diego Food Bank warehouse in Miramar & Vista must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer independently.
