Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
  • Some short-distance travel required
  • Assist setting up and/or checking on live traps
  • Clean traps and set up for next TNR
  • Resetting TNR traps for next trip
  • Cutting cardboard to size
  • House TNR cats overnight for monitoring (optional)
  • Provide training to new volunteers (optional)
Medical
  • Provide vaccinations to community pets and pets in foster care
  • Administer other medications, such as dewormer, as needed
  • Manage medical supplies
Pet Food Pantry
  • Bagging pet food for donation
  • Delivery of donations to local food banks or individuals
  • Pick up Pet Food Pantry donations from the community
Transportation
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of insurance
  • For TNR, vehicle must be mid-sized SUV or larger, or truck with shell
  • Transport animals to and/or from vet appointments (Portland, Kelso, Astoria, etc)
  • Local transportation to pick up / deliver donations and items to local individuals and Pet Food Pantries
Administrative
Examples of some administrative tasks include:
  • Folding brochures
  • Distributing printed materials around the county
  • Fundraising
  • Grant writing

Do you have a particular skill that would be useful to WAAG? Are you a vet tech or a dog trainer, have experience writing grants or legal contracts? Let us know!
