A special event is an ambitious, high-quality event for large groups of students across the University as well as of interest for city-wide audiences. It should be created and planned by student groups, supported by the SU Events Team and Tech Team.
Some examples of special event types: Collaborative festivals, Gala Dinners/Balls, performances, high profile speakers, conferences.
If you are planning a special event, please try and submit your application at least 3 months before your ideal date.
Please be aware that the focus of the form has changed slightly this year. We will be selecting special events as part of the Bristol SU Live programme based on the quality of your pitch and strength of your ideas, so in this form, sell us your event.
Please note that we will also choose a date for your event which fits with our wider programme, which is why there's not a specific date option. If your event has to be near to a particular date (e.g. a Halloween event) there is an option to state this.
Unfortunately not all applications for special events in the Anson Rooms will be selected. Your application will be carefully considered by the events team based on relevance, availability and wider programming. Please also note that we are particularly looking for events which will attract large audiences and that pay close attention to the SU values, especially collaborative events.
The Events Team can also support you with planning, budgeting and delivering your event in external venues.
