A group of A&M Business students* will provide FREE tax service/assistance (with e-filing if authorized by the taxpayer) for Students, Faculty, and Staff affiliated with A&M-SA whose total household income is $60,000 or less.
*Students, who enrolled in BUAD 3309-001 Spring 2024, are certified as IRS tax preparers at the City of San Antonio-Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
The event is supported by A&M-SA College of Business, A&M-SA Mays Center, and City of San Antonio-VITA program. Supervised by Dr. Chin-Yen Alice Liu.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment. You will be required to bring the following documents and information to your appointment:
- Proof of Identification—Driver’s License
or State issued Photo I.D.
- Social Security Card or Individual Tax
Identification Number (ITIN) for you, your spouse and dependents
- Birth dates for you, your spouse and
dependents on the tax return
- Current year’s tax package if you
received one:
- Wage and earning statement(s) Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-K, 1099-R, SSA-1099, etc.
- Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099-INT, 1099-DIV).
- If eligible to receive education credits, Form 1098-T is needed (2022 & 2023).
- If eligible to receive educator expenses, please calculate the total amount (documents might be required).
- Total paid for day care provider and the day care provider’s tax identifying
number (i.e. the provider’s Social Security Number or the provider’s business
Employer Identification Number).
- Other tax forms you have but not listed above (such as Student Loan Interest Form 1098-E).
- Bank Routing Numbers and Account Numbers for Direct Deposit (if preferred).
- To file taxes electronically on a married filing joint tax return, BOTH spouses
must be present to sign the required forms.
- A copy of last year’s Federal returns if available.
