Our goal is to highlight what outreach programs have done successfully, so we can learn from each other and improve our impact on our communities. Our session will include 40-minutes of lightning talks, where outreach programs will introduce themselves and highlight aspects of their program that have been successful, and 40 minutes of panel discussion focusing on the challenges and limitations to outreach programs and how we are working to overcome them.
Potential topics could include (but are not limited to):
- building and maintaining a successful outreach program
- how to effectively serve underrepresented populations
- how to establish relationships with local schools and community groups
- how to build, access, and share resources
- unifying local/campus-wide/regional outreach efforts
