Mt. Diablo Unified is looking for a nomination from each school site for Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year (TOY) 2025-2026.  Administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and students may nominate classroom teachers who have demonstrated a passion for teaching, an ability to differentiate instruction to meet students' needs, and teachers who connect with and support their school community.

Selection process: After nomination is submitted on behalf of a teacher, candidates are asked to respond to a brief questionnaire that speaks to their passion for teaching, their ability to differentiate instruction to meet students' needs, ways in which they provide equitable learning experiences for all students in their class, specific strategies they utilize that directly affect student achievement, and how they connect with and support their school community.  These responses are screened by the Teacher of the Year Committee. Selected candidates are then asked to submit a video of them teaching and to participate in an interview with the selection committee.  Two teachers are then chosen to represent the District in the County Teacher of the Year selection process. Only teachers with 8 years of experience will be moved forward to the County level.

The deadline to submit a Teacher of the Year Nomination Form is January 10, 2025.
