Welcome! This market is for children up to 16 years old. Very young children are welcome too, with parental assistance. Older kids are welcome to join but are expected to help out with the market too, up to an hour after trading and possibly with admin between markets. We trade mid month at Rondebosch park Market (outdoors) and end of month at lonbeach Mall, plus a variety of extra events and venues as they become available. Dates are added as venues confirm so please jpoin the whatsapp group to stay in touch.


Cape Point Vineyards have invited us back for the summer. This is a lovely venue but hard as it is EVERY Thursday from 4 to 6:30. Please email linda@livelightly.co.za if you wish to join the CPV Thursday traders -this is run via a whatsapp group, message 0833840590 to join. Minimum commitment of twice a month required please and we only run here during the summer.

Parents: Please make sure the KIDS read all the info and rules etc - it really helps to make the markets run smoothly.

You will be emailed with a confirmation and gmaps, etc. This booking does not confirm your stall as at some venues spaces are limited and we try to avoid duplication of goods. Please feel free to call me after 6pm if you need an urgent reply, this is an after hours project and sometimes I don't get to all my messages. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK AHEAD IF YOU ARE NOT CERTAIN YOU WILL ATTEND.

Fees: These are not compulsory as this is an NPO. I am however self funding and try to cover costs of certificates, equipment and outreach where possible. You will receive an accounting sheet for the kids to calculate their costs, income and profit. I use a guideline fee structure of 20% of NET PROFIT to a maximum of R50 (so R300 or more profit after all costs would give a fee of R50) Outreach, fundraisers or anyone who requests within reason may have fees waived. I do however think it is a good idea to teach the children the concept of rent and overheads. There are also start up assistance packages available, free workshops, training & support.

Please complete all the details in full. I need surnames, ages, schools, etc.

Each stall is required to have a sign and complete the accounting sheet provided as well as sending in a pre market advert at least one week before the event in JPEG format titled with the stall name. All children fulfilling this will get a certificate of participation and there will be an Entrepreneur of the Day. I will send out a link before each event with all the adverts and it is mandatory for all of us to share as widely as possible please.
Younger children may have assistance but please only one adult per stall, it detracts from the event if there are too many adults. For children 12 and over it is preferred that they do not have an adult at their stall all the time.

Please note environmental awareness is key. Upcyle, recycle, avoid plastic as much as possible and leave your area spotless. No live animals like silkworms or goldfish etc. Responsible worm farms are fine. Please talk to me is you are unsure. All traders sign a PLASTIC FREE PLEDGE and we do not permit single use plastic.

Please let me know if you prefer for your children not to be photographed.
I am trying to grow this event and will be taking photos for the newspaper and social media. If you do not want your child photographed please let me know and I will do my best to honor this. However some venues may take their own photos as well as newspaper photographers and other interested people and I am not able to control this. I suggest a notice on the stall saying "No photos please" if you are concerned. I am very sensitive to this and would hate for anyone to be put off if they are worried so feel free to give me a call if you need to make a special arrangement. As always, I am open to any input and suggestion.
