Institute of Politics - JFK Jr. Forum RSVP (9/24)
While we cannot join together in the physical space of the JFK Jr Forum, technology allows us the opportunity to convene virtually and continue Harvard’s premier arena for political speech, discussions and debate.
Election 2020: Republicans Challenge the President
In unprecedented ways, prominent Republican officeholders, campaign strategists, and officials from previous Republican administrations have mobilized in support of Democratic nominee Joe Biden. How does the recent creation of groups like Republican Voters Against Trump, The Lincoln Project, and “43 Alumni for Biden” impact the upcoming election and the future of the Republican party?
Panelists will discuss how disaffected Republican strategists and thought leaders are breaking with their party to persuade voters in the upcoming presidential election.
The conversation will be moderated by Tara Setmayer, CNN Political Commentator, Senior Advisor for The Lincoln Project and IOP Resident Fellow S’20 and feature the following panelists:
- Tim Miller, Political Director, Republican Voters Against Trump
- Kristopher Purcell, Co-founder, 43 Alumni for Biden and former Bush Administration staffer
- Steve Schmidt, Founder, The Lincoln Project, MSNBC Contributor, Chief Strategist McCain-Palin 2008
This event is co-sponsored by the HKS Republican Caucus.
Please RSVP below to join the discussion. Harvard students, staff, and faculty should include their Harvard email to receive a Zoom link. All external participants will receive a Facebook Live link to tune in. The IOP will share a confirmation by 2pm ET on Thursday, September 24th.
