2021-22 Remote Judge Sign-Up Form

For the 2021-22 season, LeRoy Nelson and Los Angeles Robotics are sponsoring six leagues for 150 VEX IQ teams at 100 schools plus four VEX IQ State Championships at LAUSD high schools. You are invited to serve as a Remote Judge to review digital engineering notebooks and/or to interview robotics teams via Zoom. Being a robotics Judge is fun and rewarding.

• Notebooks for Leagues: COMPLETED.
• Interviews for Leagues: COMPLETED.
• Notebooks for Championships: February 21-March 6.
• Interviews for Championships: February 25-March 9.

LAUSD VEX IQ Leagues (COMPLETED)

Digital Engineering Notebooks for Leagues will be reviewed during the Winter Break, December 20, 2021 - January 10, 2022. Notebooks will be pre-screened, so judges will only be reviewing fully-developed notebooks.

Remote Judging Interviews for Leagues will be held after school and on Saturdays, between Wednesday, January 12, 2022 and Friday, January 28, 2022. Each Zoom interview session will be up to four hours with a 20-minute break in the middle. One or two interviews will be scheduled the first hour and up to three interviews will be scheduled each subsequent hour. Each interview is limited to 10 minutes and will use a standard script of questions shared with teams. Judges should sign into Zoom 30 minutes before their first Remote Judging interview session for orientation and 10 minutes before each subsequent session.

Los Angeles VEX IQ State Championships

Digital Engineering Notebooks for State Championships will be reviewed during the last week of February and the first week of March, February 21 March 6, 2022. Notebooks will be pre-screened, so judges will only be reviewing fully-developed notebooks.

Remote Judging Interviews for State Championships will be held after school between Thursday, February 24, 2022 and Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Each Zoom interview session will be up to three hours. One or two interviews will be scheduled the first hour and up to three interviews will be scheduled each subsequent hour. Each interview is limited to 10 minutes and will use a standard script of questions shared with teams. Judges should sign into Zoom 30 minutes before their first Remote Judging interview session for orientation and 10 minutes before each subsequent session.
