The primary responsibilities of the Secretary would be to help keep the organization on track through maintaining SiOV's activity calendar, work with the President on a BoV meeting agenda, take minutes at all assigned meetings, and helping to fulfill various action items. The Secretary would be a sitting member of the Board of Directors so they would also contribute to strategy, special projects, event planning, and fundraising and have a vote on essential matters.
We are looking for candidates that are within the Washington Metro Region, so that they can attend meetings and events. The candidate should have an interest in the mission and vision of SiOV, and should be committed to the cause of improving the lives of those affected by mental health. This person should be organized, have availability in their schedule to commit 5-10 hours a month, and be a team player. This individual would serve for a year on the Board and would be eligible to stay on pursuit to the rules regarding SiOV Board Members.
This position is unpaid and strictly volunteer.
