We need to vote for a President and for 2 North Island Representatives.
VOTES ARE DUE BY 5 pm ON FRIDAY 10th APRIL 2020
Your Membership Number:
Please read the following Biographies and vote for 1 President.
I am member 271 and have served on the Committee for eight years, two as Chair/President. I have the respect and confidence of my Committee peers and appointees. If re-elected I will continue to run our Committee in a manner that is democratic, based on majority vote decisions that are made by considering what is best for the interests of all members and are within our Constitution.
My knowledge and ability with Austins is comprehensive. I’m keen to provide a better network of knowledge and resources to keep our vehicles on the road and the enjoyment of motoring them alive.
I am standing for the position of President to assist the Register in returning to a stable and friendly group of enthusiastic Austineers. My status as a past NZ VAR committee member, Chairman and Life Member serves to prove my commitment to the aims and objectives of our Club. My aim is to lead a Committee where all opinions are valued, and business is conducted in an open and transparent manner. I will seek advice from senior members and follow our Constitution in all areas.
Vote for President:
NORTH ISLAND REPRESENTATIVES
The two names with the most votes will represent the North Island.
Having read their biographies, please vote for only 2 of the following:
I have served the VAR Executive for 16 years in total, as Treasurer and as distributor of the UKA7 magazine. This gives me valuable experience to serve you on the Committee. I have in depth knowledge regarding the management of the Club and would like to use my time to provide consistency going forward by serving as your North Island representative. I’ve enjoyed and want to continue to enjoy contact with members by phone, email, text and in person - always doing my utmost to serve them well. I thank all those who see me as a steady Committee member.
Dear VAR Members. Kay and I have been members of the VAR Register for approximately 35 years. During that time, we have participated in many of the Rallies and AGM’s in both the North and South Islands, driving our 12/4 the length and breadth of NZ. I have previously served the VAR as Waikato Branch Organiser and helped organise two AGM’s in the Waikato. I now live in the Bay of Plenty. I have accepted nomination as I feel can, and should, give more back to the Club that has given us a lot pleasure and many good friends.
First drawn into the VAR in the 1970’s by the influence of Gordon Routledge, my first Austin was his black 7 Special called No. 1. I have since built a fabric-bodied Special and most recently, a faithful replica of a 1931 Austin 7 Ulster. Michael and I are active members, motoring to all corners of NZ.
I feel the VAR is invaluable through keeping all members in touch, encouraging the running of events and providing services, such as the magazine, spare parts and archives for us all. I’m very happy to serve on the Committee as a North Island representative.
Vote for 2 North Island Representatives:
The other members of the Committee for the 2020 - 2021 year nominated without challenge are:
Secretary: Paul Fleming
Treasurer: Ross Vesey
South Island Representatives: Ryan Oliver and Robert Trompetter
Our thanks go to all of these people for putting themselves forward for Committee in order to keep the VAR NZ going from strength to strength.
