The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has made several waivers available to sponsors participating in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Seamless Summer Option and Child and Adult Care Food Program during School Year 2021-2022. Please read each waiver carefully for details and conditions. Any waiver requested should only be used for the time needed, as all sponsors should work towards compliance with all USDA program requirements, operating the School and Community Nutrition Programs as normal.  Sponsors are expected to only apply for waivers if they are truly needed, and any waiver must only be used for the duration that they are needed. Waiver requests should NOT BE submitted hypothetical reasons.  ISBE understands that circumstances may change throughout this school year, and therefore, sponsors may apply for these waivers at any time.
