Protect ICWA: Personal Stories and Statements
The Indian Child Welfare Act is not a piece of history; it's a relevant and necessary law that supports kids, strengthens families, and sustains culture. Personal experiences are at the heart of ICWA, and the Protect ICWA Campaign wants to make sure that people who care about ICWA have a place to share their stories and statements in support. With your permission, someone who is part of the campaign may follow up with you about sharing this to our audiences.

This is entirely optional; ICWA stories can be deeply personal and you may decide not to share. That's more than okay. None of the questions below are required, so pick and choose the ones that feel right to you. Thank you for considering sharing your personal support of ICWA with the Protect ICWA team.

Please share your name and tribal affiliation (if applicable).
Please share your email (for follow up if needed).
A member of the Protect ICWA Campaign may follow up with you on your story. If you'd prefer a call or text, a phone number works too.
Do you have personal experience with ICWA? Can you share that personal experience and explain why you support ICWA?
Please finish the following sentence: "I protect ICWA because..."
The previous question asks for a longer story; this question offers and opportunity for a shorter statement of support (1-2 sentences).
Would you be okay with the Protect ICWA Campaign sharing your words to a larger audience to show how much ICWA means to people, likely on social media?
See the question below to offer more explanation.

Please use this section to expand on your answer to the question above.
For example, if you'd be okay with sharing your statement but not your story, please specify here. Also, if you answered "I'm not sure" you can share more about that response here.
Would you be interested in discussing your story with a reporter?
Sharing a story with a reporter is a big ask, and if you answer "Yes" here, you're not making any promises. Reporters are often interested in talking to people with personal experiences, and if you'd be interested, there may be opportunities. Someone from our team would reach out to you to make sure you felt good about an interview.
