SUB Football referees are required to referee 3 x 40 minute games per night between 6pm and 8pm on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, at our four venues, Auckland Domain, Auckland Grammar Turf, Seymour Park or Walker Park. Referees are to report to the venue at 5:45pm at the latest, and are to assist with pack down after the final game.

The season starts on the 30th of October, has a 4 week break over Christmas and New Years, then runs through to the first week of March.

Required:
Familiarity with the rules of SUB Football, either as a player, spectator, or previous referee.
Availability at least one regular evening per week.
A reasonable level of fitness.
Age greater than 16

Preferred but not essential:
Previous refereeing experience.
Availability at least 2 nights per week.
First aid certificate
Age greater than 18

After application, you may be invited for an interview, either in person or by phone. You may be asked for a reference.
All applicants successful in their interview must complete an online test to demonstrate their understanding of the rules.

All applicants must then attend a practical training session - this will be scheduled to co-incide with our pre-season tournament on Saturday the 14th of October. If you are unable to make this date please let us know.

New referees will then undergo a field test to demonstrate their ability.

Employment is not guaranteed until the applicant has completed this process.

Remuneration is $50 per night, and employment is on a contractual basis, meaning that, if successful in your application, you must invoice SUB Football Ltd for your work, and you are responsible for paying your own taxes.
You will not receive remuneration for your training or field tests sorry - these are to be done in your own time.

Please fill in our online application form. We will be in touch in late August or early September about interviews and training.
