Original Artwork
All artwork submitted for exhibition must be original work created by the exhibiting artist. Prints and photographs must be clearly identified and, where applicable, numbered as part of a limited edition.

Artwork Preparation & Display
All artwork must be professionally presented and ready for exhibition.

• Wall-mounted works must be suitably framed, securely wired, and ready to hang.
• Three-dimensional works must be safe and suitable for display on a flat surface or plinth.
• Any special display, installation or handling requirements must be provided to Te Huanui at the time of delivery.

Artwork Labelling
Each artwork must be clearly labelled with:

• Artist name
• Artwork title
• Medium
• Sale price

Labels should be attached securely to the back of artwork or supplied with the work. Any specific display or handling instructions must accompany the artwork.

Artwork Pricing
All artwork displayed at Te Huanui must be available for sale and have a clearly stated price. Prices supplied to Te Huanui must include any applicable GST and the gallery commission.

Artwork prices must remain unchanged for the duration of the exhibition unless agreed otherwise with Te Huanui.

Sales Process
All artwork sales must be processed through Te Huanui Gallery. Artists must not complete private sales of exhibited works during the exhibition period.

Commission
MCAC charges a 30% commission on the stated sale price of all artwork sold. MCAC will deduct the commission from the proceeds of sale prior to payment to the artist.

Payment to Artists
Proceeds from sold artwork will be paid to the artist’s nominated bank account by the 20th of the month following MCAC receiving full payment from the purchaser.

MCAC reserves the right to deduct any outstanding amounts owed to MCAC from proceeds payable to the artist.

Delivery of Artwork
Artists are responsible for delivering artwork to Te Huanui by the agreed delivery date. Late delivery may result in artwork not being included in the exhibition.

All artwork must be securely packaged. Original packaging will be reused for return freight where required.

Freight
Artists are responsible for all freight costs to and from Te Huanui.

Artwork requiring return freight must be supplied with prepaid return arrangements. MCAC will not cover return freight costs.

Collection of Artwork
Artwork must be collected from Te Huanui on the designated collection date unless alternative arrangements have been made.

MCAC accepts no responsibility for artwork remaining after the agreed collection date and reserves the right to charge storage or handling fees for uncollected work.

Artists are responsible for insurance of artwork while in transit to and from Te Huanui.

MCAC will take reasonable care of artwork while it is held at Te Huanui for the duration of the exhibition.

Ownership of artwork remains with the artist until full payment has been received by MCAC from the purchaser.

Once full payment has been received, ownership transfers from the artist to the purchaser.

MCAC reserves the right to determine which submitted artworks are suitable for exhibition at Te Huanui.

Submission of artwork does not guarantee inclusion in an exhibition.

Final decisions regarding exhibition layout, placement and presentation remain with Te Huanui Gallery to ensure a cohesive exhibition experience.

By submitting artwork for exhibition, artists grant MCAC permission to photograph and reproduce images of exhibited works for promotional purposes, including the Te Huanui website, social media, newsletters, advertising and other gallery communications.

Te Huanui Art Gallery is operated by MCAC as a not-for-profit community arts venue.

Every effort is made to keep exhibition fees affordable for artists.

The annual subscription is $45. Payment is required before display of works in Gallery 2. 

By exhibiting at Te Huanui Art Gallery, artists acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms & Conditions, together with any Exhibition Agreement or Application Form, constitute the agreement between the exhibitor and the Malvern Community Arts Council.
