Journalists of Color Survey: Let's build the resource guide you need
Journalists of color bring unique strengths to the field but also face a number of challenges in their newsrooms or when working for publications as freelancers. From salary gaps to running diversity initiatives, journalists who are underrepresented in newsrooms shoulder a number of burdens that requires extra research and information.

This project seeks to address this need for information within the community of journalists of color. We, Disha Raychaudhuri, Moiz Syed and Lam Thuy Vo, would like to build a website that aggregates all the information that journalists of color may need in their day-to-day — whether it's data on salaries in the industry or tips on how to shape a more inclusive work culture. We would love your input to ensure that we serve as broad of a community as possible in the most effective ways: please fill out this survey.

The project is spearheaded by three journalists who met through an informal slack network of journalists of color (http://journalistsofcolor.us), and is funded by the News Integrity Initiative at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York (https://www.journalism.cuny.edu/centers/tow-knight-center-entrepreneurial-journalism/news-integrity-initiative/).

Thanks for taking the time. We know that it's precious and worth money.

If you have any questions please email lam.vo@journalism.cuny.edu.
