Request for a Special Conference
Due to:

1) Increasing uncertainty regarding the Parliamentary Party's stance on how members would vote on a motion triggering Article 50.
2) The increasing likelihood that such a motion will be laid before the House of Commons before the Spring 2017 Conference in York.
3) The party policy passed at the Autumn 2016 Conference in Brighton that commits the Liberal Democrats to campaign to remain inside the European Union.

We, the following, call for a Special Conference to explicitly set out policy on the issue of Article 50 and to question the Parliamentary Party in regards to their position.

Sincerely,

Liberal Democrats Against Article 50.
