To honor the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on December 3rd, Art and Culture Project joins the Disability Culture Activism Lab (DCAL) and Art Therapy Collective for hosting four art workshops this December. As we enter the last month of 2023, let's take a moment to pause, take a deep breath, reflect and nurture ourselves as a community. Art making materials and prompts will be provided for attendees to create tangible actions as they reflect on disability justice issues through art making and dialogues.

Going to rallies and street protests with unmasked protesters can be unsafe, too stimulating, overwhelming or exhausting for your bodymind? Unable to make a public political stance due to precarious immigration statuses or other personal reasons? You are not alone!
Activism comes in many forms. This is a low-spoon, anti-capitalist and anti-ableism space for attendees to share their creative ways to practice activism. Let’s meet up from your couch, bed or on the floor in your own home.
What to bring: pillow, blanket, cookies and tea (or other beverages). The facilitators will make collage with magazine clippings or digital art. Feel free to join us. You are encouraged to art/craft materials of your choice.
