Announcer (all codes)

Announcers are responsible for welcoming spectators to the venue and keeping them informed throughout the day, as well as introducing athletes as they enter the competition area to compete. While some knowledge of the code for which volunteers are announcing is helpful, it is not necessary.

Competition Office (all codes)

Volunteers in the competition office will support GNZ staff with a range of competition-day tasks, including preparing and distributing proficiency pins, ribbons, and certificates, sorting and distributing judge sheets, and assisting with manager and coach queries. This role is best suited to someone with knowledge of at least one gymnastics code, although training and support will be provided.

Equipment Assistant (WAG/MAG)

Equipment Assistants are responsible for ensuring the Artistic Gymnastics equipment is correctly set up for the athletes. Physical strength and knowledge of how to adjust equipment are essential.

Marshall (all codes)

Marshalls are responsible for organising athletes into their order of competition and escorting them from the warm-up/marshalling area to the competition area and vice versa. Some knowledge of the code for which volunteers are marshalling is required.

Photographer

The photographers will work closely with the remote social media manager to capture content for our social media channels, including photos from across all gymnastics codes.

Results Assistant (WAG/MAG/RG/AER)

Results assistant works alongside the results manager to provide additional support. Prior knowledge of how to use Scoreholder is essential.

Runner (AER/RG)

Runners collect scoresheets from AER and RG judges at the end of each routine and give these to the results manager.

Ticket Scanner

Ticket scanners are stationed at the entrances to the spectator areas and are responsible for checking spectator tickets as well as welcoming people to the event. No previous experience is required.

Trampoline spotters (TRA)

Trampoline spotters are responsible for breaking the fall of athletes if they come off the trampolines, and as such, are integral to ensuring the safety of the athletes. Spotters need to be physically fit adults able to concentrate for extended periods of time. Previous experience spotting is preferred, but training will be provided.

Provincial requirement: A spotter roster will be developed outlining the number of sessions each province is required to supply spotters for at Nationals.

Video Recorder (all codes)

Video recorders are situated in the competition area and record athletes’ routines. No previous experience/knowledge is required.
