Norma K Hemming Jury Application
Please read the information about judging requirements carefully before submitting your application as we cannot make exceptions to these.

The Norma K Hemming Award is designed to recognise excellence in the exploration of themes of race, gender, sexuality, class or disability in a published speculative fiction work. Jury members are generally appointed for a two year period, and no juror may judge the same category for more than four years.

Jury members are sought for both the long work and short fiction categories, which will be two separate panels for the 2020 awards (which consider entries published in 2019). It is vital that jurors be able to work as part of a team and meet stringent deadlines. The jury discussions are conducted via a private online forum or email. Confidentiality regarding the jury discussions is paramount. Jurors are ineligible to enter work in the category they are judging, and are required to declare potential conflicts of interest regarding entered works to the Award Administrator and fellow jurors.

All jurors must be willing and able to read electronic entries in either mobi or epub format, which are accepted for all entries.

We strongly encourage people with diverse experiences to apply.
