As a result of not attending school on April 10, seniors will need to complete four (4) hours of one or more documented learning experiences to fulfill State of Michigan attendance requirements. Over the next several months we encourage each senior to find something he/she is interested in, excited about, and can learn from.
Learning experiences may include job shadowing, college visits, or community service projects at organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, God’s Kitchen, Kid’s Food Basket, the library, a city recreation department or a local nursing home, church or neighborhood. A LEARNING EXPERIENCE DOES NOT INCLUDE A JOB WHEN YOU RECEIVE COMPENSATION. The goal is to have each senior be involved in some type of learning situation outside of the classroom. These 4 hours of learning experiences are a State of Michigan requirement.
Please submit your learning experiences by Thursday, March 29, 2018. Students will be required to attend two (2) Saturday morning school sessions scheduled for April 21, 2018, and April 28, 2018 if this form is not received.
Please contact Mrs. Boeve in the guidance office with any questions.
