Thank you for your interest in automated sealing for criminal offender record information (CORIs)!

Currently in Massachusetts, CORI sealing is only possible through a complex, slow, cumbersome, "petition-based" process. As a result, few people seal their CORIs and sometimes find out they can seal a record after they already lost an opportunity. Even a decades-old misdemeanor or an arrest with no conviction can make it nearly impossible to get a job or rent a home. We are calling on Massachusetts lawmakers to pass legislation that will require automated CORI sealing when individuals become eligible. No more red tape.

Senator Cindy Friedman & Representatives Mary Keefe & Andy Vargas plus Senator Adam Gomez & Representative Brandy Fluker-Reid filed the following legislation in January 2025 and the Clean Slate MA coalition invites you and/or your organization to ENDORSE it.
