Soft-skills workshop themes:

Networking for success:
What is networking? Why is it important in your career? How can you network effectively?  The aim of this pop up workshop is to help you understand how to network effectively and make you confident and happy about going out and networking to advance your career!
Engagement and Impact:
Discover more about what public engagement is, why it is important and how it can benefit you and your work.  We will focus in particular on how engaging with members of the public, schools, patients and community groups can help you to achieve research impact. We will take a look at what the big funders think about engagement and impact, as well as having some time to consider what it all means for your own areas of research.
CV of failure:
Academic careers are often filled with rejections; however, failure and unrecognized work can serve as crucial stepping stones to success. By embracing and sharing the valuable lessons hidden behind these failures, we can learn how to reframe setbacks and transform them into opportunities for personal growth and development.
Things I didn't know when I started:
In this session we will create a space for seasoned academics to share their personal stories and professional anecdotes. These real-life challenges and practical tips can give younger researchers a better insight into the scientific career. By opening a dialogue between experienced and aspiring researchers, this session aims to inspire the young scholars in their academic pursuits.
