The Maryland State Archives accepts appointment requests for our public search room Tuesdays through Fridays from 8:30am to 4:30pm, and the first Saturday of the month from 8:30am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:30pm with a full closure for the lunch hour. While walk-in visits are permitted until we reach capacity, appointments are strongly encouraged.
Your appointment request will be reviewed by an archivist and a staff member will get back to you within 3 business days with information on the best method to assist you, which may be by email, phone, online, or by appointment. Please note, to pull records in advance of any appointment, we require a minimum of 3 business days advance notice on your request. You will receive a confirmation notice for any appointment scheduled.
