Sweepstakes Award Application
The Tennessee Bandmasters Association presents the Sweepstakes Award to TBA members whose bands have met the following criteria during the previous school year:

High School Bands: A Superior rating is required in marching, concert and sightreading performance.

In band programs with more than one performing ensemble, the top ensemble must receive the superior ratings for the school to be eligible.

If a high school does not have a marching band, the middle school criteria can be applied.

Only Superior Ratings from the Regionally approved events that properly utilize the TBA assessment formats qualify for the Sweepstakes Award. Consult the local Regional President for a listing of qualifying events and required procedures.

Middle School Bands: Superior rating in concert and sight-reading performance; and 50% of the band’s enrollment must participate in the regional solo and ensemble festival, with 50% of those participating receiving a superior rating.

Concert festivals sponsored by the regional associations (WTSBOA, MTSBOA, ETSBOA) are acceptable for qualifying for this award; if your school did not participate in your regional festival due to preparation for another major event, please indicate the event in the appropriate place in the form. Acceptable substitutions include:

Midwest
Music for All National Concert Festival
Music for All Regional Concert Festival
Nationally-Recognized Concert Competition (Grand National Adjudicators Invitational, Meyers Invitstional in Dallas, TX, etc.)
TMEA State Convention
Macy’s
Parade of Roses
BOA Grand Nationals
CBDNA Convention
NBA Convention
ABA Convention
ASBDA Convention


ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED, INCLUDING PRINCIPAL VERIFICATION, BY FRIDAY, MARCH 8TH, 2019 IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE.
