RCOY stands for Regional Conference of Youth. YOUNGO, the official Children and Youth Constituency of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), organizes various formats of Conference of Youth (COY) to empower youth and formally bring their voices to the UNFCCC processes to shape the intergovernmental climate change policies. RCOYs are organized prior to the GCOY across the world, in order to localize the climate conversation and gather more inputs from the ground. RCOYs discuss and develop respective outputs, which feed into national and regional climate policy making as well into GCOY and consequently into the climate negotiations.

RCOY APAC 2024 will be happening in Sri Lanka from 2nd September 2024 - 6th September 2024. The expected outcome documents of the conference includes Regional Youth Statement for COP29, Climate Diplomacy Training Toolkit & Mechanisms on Prioritising Climate Education along with Draft Action Plans for Regional Development.

Eligibility Criteria: Open to young leaders aged under 35 from countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

Selection Basis: Delegates will be selected based on their commitment, experience and Ideas for the Climate Action.

Funding Support: Delegates may be fully funded, partially funded, or self-funded based on their application strength and potential impact.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted by July 27th, 2024.
