Welcome to the Diversity Pledge Form.
✍️ By submitting this form, you are signing the pledge below.
"I pledge to celebrate and embrace diversity in all of its forms. I understand that each person is a unique individual, with their own distinct culture, background, and traditions. I will make an effort to learn about and appreciate these differences, treating everyone with respect, empathy, and compassion.
I acknowledge that diversity encompasses a wide range of characteristics, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, age, ability, size, and shape. I will strive to create inclusive spaces and promote a sense of belonging for all individuals, irrespective of their differences.
I recognize that diversity can be classified into two categories: inherent and acquired. Inherent diversity includes physical traits such as age, appearance, gender identity and expression, health, physical ability, and race. These are facets of our identities and may influence how others perceive us. Acquired diversity, on the other hand, is acquired through life experiences, such as language(s) spoken, skills, strengths, talents, work style, education level, communication style, beliefs, and cognitive diversity, which is our unique approach to thinking and problem-solving.
I understand that embracing diversity goes beyond just acknowledging differences; it involves celebrating the richness and complexity that comes with each person's unique identity and experiences.
I will actively seek out opportunities to engage with people from diverse backgrounds, learn from their experiences, and share my own. I will amplify the voices of those who have historically been marginalized or underrepresented.
I will speak out against discrimination, prejudice, and hate speech and work towards creating a safe and respectful community. I will be an ally to those who require support and will do my part to promote justice for all.
By taking this pledge, I am committing to fostering a more inclusive and diverse community. I recognize that diversity is not just a buzzword but an essential element of a thriving and compassionate society. I commit to doing my part to make this a reality in my personal and professional life."
