Download the Food Insecurity Report (November 2022)
Joint Venture’s research arm, the Silicon Valley Institute for Regional Studies, has released a research brief in partnership with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley and with Joint Venture’s Food Recovery Initiative. Entitled, "Food Needs Terminology: History, Usage, and Limitations," the brief tackles the challenge of confusing nomenclature within this critical arena, and offers potential approaches to better define community needs in Silicon Valley and beyond. The objective was to examine a more sustainable way to calculate, discuss, and communicate food needs in Silicon Valley, with applicability in communities elsewhere.
