The Orchestra Iowa Music Educator of the Year Award honors outstanding music educators in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and surrounding communities who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their students, schools, and the broader arts community. This award recognizes educators who inspire a love of music, foster student growth beyond the classroom, and make a meaningful impact through teaching, leadership, and advocacy.

Nominations are welcome from students, parents, colleagues, administrators, and community members. Educators may also nominate themselves.

The recipient will be honored at Orchestra Iowa’s first annual Orchestra Iowa Teacher Appreciation event, held in conjunction with Masterworks V in April, 2026.
