Volunteer activities include but aren’t limited to: making time in their days to contribute to academics, and others get involved in parent-teacher activities. It’s estimated that parents spend about 3 hours per day engaging with their children.
Volunteers are such an asset to organizations and the communities they serve. They offer their time, skills, and talents in the name of love and charity.
All volunteers are a valued and sought-after commodity in schools and nonprofit organizations, but rarest among them numerically speaking are the working-age Black fathers.
Fathers, like mothers, are pillars in the development of a child's emotional well-being. Studies have shown that when fathers are affectionate and supportive, it greatly affects a child's cognitive and social development. It also instills an overall sense of well-being and self confidence.
That said, as an extension of the Melanated Pearl Corporation’s PEARL Pack, we are excited to offer volunteer hours to Black fathers for engaging in positive parenting activities with their children.
Participants are required to submit photos, videos, and receipts as proof of engagement and cost.
