WHAT IS IT?
In partnership with Central Square Theater, Jean Appolon Expressions, Public Displays of Motion, The Dance Complex will present a new theatre/dance/music event titled Yo
ur Town. The specially devised performance work will be performed as a part of Cambridge River Festival 2024 on June 15. Blending music, dance, and theatrical storytelling,
Your Town has been developed from dozens of interviews with Cantabridgeans and those who love Cambridge.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The creative team is imagining a chorus of movers who will help embody Your Town. As with many theatre and dance traditions, the chorus of movers will help further the story and bring a large scale of humanity to the performance. All ages, all body types, all levels of experience- basically a mirror of the people who come from all corners of Cambridge.
There will be moving and dancing, with any level of experience accepted. You would commit to about a dozen rehearsals prior to production week, rehearsals the week of June 10th most afternoon/evenings, tech/dress rehearsal June 14 and an all day performance schedule on June 15th (10am- 6pm)

Dancers/Movers will be contacted via email with more details about the project. Participation in the Your Town Community Dance will be contingent upon the dancer’s written confirmation of these details.
COMPENSATION
There is no compensation for participation in the rehearsals. A $25 gift card to a local Central Square business will be awarded for participation in the performances.
