The CTL / ASSETT are piloting a new Teaching Triads program and are looking for up to six participants for Fall 2024. Teaching Triads provide a structure and framework for small groups of faculty from different departments to observe each others' teaching,
learn instructional methods from one another, build community, and optionally write each other peer observation letters. Time commitment is anticipated to be 7-9 hours over ~10 weeks of the semester (the equivalent of less than 1 hr per week) and includes (1) asynchronous review of the BUFF classroom observation framework (~30 min to an hour), (2) an in person introduction to the program and meet & greet with your Triad (1.5 hours), (3) individual pre-observation goal setting meetings with your triad (two ~30 min meetings), (4) one course observation (~1 hour), (5) individual post-observation meetings with your triad (two ~30 min meetings), (6) an in person wrap-up discussion with your Triad about your teaching this semester and what you learned from observing someone and being observed in return (1 hour), and (7) a focus group discussion to provide participant follow-up questions & comments on your experiences in the Teaching Triads (1 hour). Participants who complete the program will receive a $250 Professional Development Award.
