Call for Papers - Pycon Pakistan 2019
Event Day: Saturday, 12th October 2019
Venue: Habib University, Karachi, Pakistan.
Deadline for CFP: 31st July 2019

Welcome to this years call for papers for Pycon Pakistan 2019. We are planning to have a one day event in the largest city of Pakistan, Karachi. This is a Pycon event organised by Python Karachi, the local Python community consisting of professionals and enthusiasts working in the city. The event is geared towards professionals who are working in Python, or are interested in learning more about its eco-system.

We did a Call For Suggestions before this Call For Paper to get feedback on what people will want to hear about and what interested them the most. Based on this feedback (and our last year feedback from the conference) we have outlined the following topics of interest.

What's new in Python 3.5+ (Type hinting, Abstract classes, etc)
Async Python (libraries, usage)
Using Python in Data Sciences / Big Data
Applied Python in Machine Learning
Deployment Patterns in Python
Testing Python code
Profiling Python code
Computation and Memory performance of Python at Scale
Why is Python considered such a good language for Data Science?
Optimisation tricks for Python 3+
Understanding Pythonic way of coding + PEP

You may choose a topic outside these as well, but we heavily recommend thinking about these when applying to our CFP. The above topics can be chosen for a talk or a workshop. The talks can be either in English or Urdu. You are allowed to submit multiple proposals.

Our talks will be 30 minutes each. With a 10min question session afterwards. We will also be running the talks and workshops in parallel. Our workshops will be either 1.5 hours or 3 hours long. Workshops will be conducted in computer labs, where we will configure the environment needed for the workshop. Each workshop is expected to have about 25-30 attendees.

Please ensure your topics and presentation adhere to the Code of Conduct mentioned on our website.
