About Crust Worthy
Crust Worthy is a one-woman baking operation. All bread is naturally leavened with sourdough, slowly fermented, mixed, shaped, and baked by hand. All sourdough baked goods are baked from scratch, and are crafted from organic, locally sourced flours, and local, seasonal produce when possible.

All of the holiday offerings are vegan (no dairy, eggs, or other animal products) and contain no peanuts, corn, tree-nuts, or palm oil. Any soy or sesame products are noted.

Please note that all Crust Worthy baking is done at 225 Brownsville Road in Mt. Oliver of the city of Pittsburgh. This is a shared space among other bakers and food processors, and while we do our best to prevent any unlisted allergens (e.g. milk, eggs, peanuts) from coming in contact with the tools or equipment we use, we can make no absolute guarantees.
Storage FAQ
- What is the shelf life of Crust Worthy bread?
- The shelf life for most of our breads is about 7 days. If storing the bread for more than 3 days, you may wish to store the bread in a plastic bag/sealed container for easier slicing. If the bread does stale, lightly brush or spray the bread with water, then toast it until your desired softness and toasting is achieved.

- Does the bread/fougasse freeze well?
- YES. Our breads all freeze beautifully when tightly wrapped, and can be defrosted at room temperature. You may also wrap your bread in foil and place it in an oven set to 350, until thawed. If you prefer to use your bread for toast or sandwiches, we recommend slicing your bread before freezing and toasting individual slices as needed.

- Can I freeze the cookies for a later date?
- YES. Cookies may be tightly wrapped and frozen, then defrosted at room temperature. If they become a bit soft after thawed, place on a sheet pan in an oven set to 350 for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool on the pan for 10 minutes.

- Can I freeze the other sweets for a later date?
- YES. Cinnamon rolls and scones may be tightly wrapped and frozen, then thawed at room temperature for 1-2 hours. We recommend warming the pastries after the initial thaw to optimize the flavor and texture, by placing in an oven set to 350 for 10-15 minutes.

- How long can I freeze your products for?
- For optimum flavor and texture, we recommend freezing sweets for up to 1 month, and bread for up to 3 months.
