Join the Scraper Bike Team: A Six-Month Program for Your Child!

Parents and Guardians of Oakland Youth (Ages 11-15),

Enrollment is officially open for the Original Scraper Bike Team's three-month "Members Only" Program, running from May to August 2026!

This is a free, high-impact youth development program designed to empower your child with creativity, technical expertise, and critical soft skills. We emphasize a positive, structured environment and encourage active parental involvement to reinforce the success your child achieves in the program.

What Your Child Will Gain:

  • Build and Own a Custom Bike: Your child will learn the art of "scraper bike" customization, mastering spray-painting and design techniques to create their own unique bike, which they get to keep at the end of the program! This isn't just a toy; it's a valuable symbol of their accomplishment.

  • Master Essential Skills: They will gain hands-on mastery in bike mechanics (from troubleshooting flats to full builds). Crucially, they will also develop future-ready life skills in Public Speaking, Financial Literacy, and Teamwork—skills that will boost their confidence in school and beyond.

  • A Safe and Supportive Space: The program provides a consistent, safe space at The Shed at Arroyo Park and on organized community field trips, offering positive mentorship and keeping youth engaged during key weekend hours.

Cost: FREE! All tools, bike parts, safety equipment, and instruction are provided at no cost to your family.
