There's a lot of informal discussion about how long nonfiction picture books should be for traditionally published debut authors (people without a trade publishing history, WFH in educational markets is ok). We've all heard various numbers -- 800 or 1,000 words, even more. I'd like to look at some hard numbers to see what editors have actually acquired over the last few years (acquisitions: 2017 to present).
