TK-KINDERGARTEN PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT
When: MONDAY, MARCH 10 from 6:00-7:00 PM.
- **We will start promptly at 6:00PM**
Where: MOC-FV Elementary Cafeteria (2nd Floor)
Who: Parents of incoming TK/Kindergarten students (Children turning 5 on or before September 15, 2025)
**For parents only--students will attend Kindergarten Roundup on April 3 or 4.**
What: Parent Information Night for our 2025-2026 TK & Kindergarten parents/guardians
- Learn about Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten programming, and the benefits of each.
- Learn about our Kindergarten Roundup process and how it will be used to help inform student placement.
- Meet TK/K teachers, see classrooms, and learn about our school day and expectations.
- Get healthcare information from the school nurse and fill out paperwork as needed.
- Fill out required district and State of Iowa enrollment forms. Please bring your child's birth certificate (or a copy of their birth certificate) for birth date verification.
- Answer any parent/guardian questions or concerns
Why: We hope to clearly communicate our processes and strengthen our collaboration with parents/families.

KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP
When: Thursday, April 3, or Friday, April 4 (Your child will attend 1 session only)
- Session 1 | 8:30 AM--10:30 AM | Thursday, April 3
- Session 2 | 12:30 PM--2:30 PM | Thursday, April 3
- Session 3 | 8:30 AM--10:30 AM | Friday, April 4
Where: MOC-FV Elementary | (Please arrive 15 minutes before your child's Roundup session)
Who: All incoming TK/Kindergarten students (Children turning 5 on or before September 15, 2025)
**This roundup day is for students only--parents will not visit classrooms with their child on this day**
What: Kindergarten Roundup (Giddyup!)
- Students experience elements of a day in Kindergarten in a relaxed environment.
- Screening of various school readiness skills and observation of students in the school environment.
- Opportunities for children to socialize with peers, listen to read alouds, do crafts, and show what they know.
- Students assigned a time, with flexibility to change times to fit schedules if needed.
- No preschool classes these days
- No school for current TK & Kindergarten students at MOC-FV Elementary.
- Parents will receive a placement recommendation letter approximately 1 week after completing Kindergarten Roundup.
Why: To partner with parents in choosing the best learning environment for their child as they start school.
