Each Academy edition welcomes 20 selected participants to take part in this intense one-day workshop taking place the day after the Summit in each location. The programme includes a combination of ignite talks, "Ask Me Anything" sessions, a roundtable to share newsroom challenges around innovation and a crash course on design thinking, which is at the core of this new initiative.
Design thinking is a methodology that helps solving complex problems from a user-centered approach and with a creative mindset. During the roundtable we select together one of the challenges and use it as a case study to go through the design thinking steps and prototype innovative solutions.
Editors, reporters, social media managers, UX designers, product managers and developers are eligible to apply, as well as media entrepreneurs, start-ups, media researchers and any bright mind in the media field who wants to contribute to the future of journalism.
Participants are required to attend the whole day, as we work in teams and the active contribution of each of the 20 selected participants in the room is key for the success of the day. Please note that unfortunately we cannot offer any support for travel or accommodation so you will be expected to cover these expenses yourself to join the Academy.
