2021 Lactation Mini Grant Program
The Colorado Breastfeeding Coalition (COBFC) and La Leche League of Mountain Plains (LLL-MP) are pleased to announce the opening of the application period for the 2021 Lactation Mini-Grants. The grant program goal is to improve breastfeeding support and rates and reduce breastfeeding barriers and disparities in communities of color, LGBTQIA+ communities, rural, and low-income communities in Colorado. COBFC and LLL-MP invite local breastfeeding coalitions, community groups, and individuals in Colorado to submit proposals to fund community-based projects.
The Mini-Grant program began in 2019, funded through the 2018 Colorado Lactation Conference and has continued each year since. The COBFC and LLL-MP are excited to be able to partner this year using proceeds from the 2020 Colorado Lactation Conference to continue this funding opportunity. The 2021 Mini-Grant program is managed by COBFC and LLL-MP leadership.
The 2021 mini grant program is divided into two main areas: Advanced Lactation Training and Community Projects. More than one grant request may be made, but only one grant will be awarded in each area (e.g., training, community projects) each year to the applying coalition, organization, group or individual. Past grantees are encouraged to apply as long as requests are to fund the advancement of past projects or new training/projects.
GRANT YEAR: April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022
Grant requests cannot exceed $1,500. Requests for any amount under $1,500 are allowed.
Mini grant funds are only for individuals/organizations residing in Colorado and are prioritized for individuals/organizations serving people of color, LGBTQIA+, rural, and low-income communities.
