Let's Talk About Alberta Education & Corporate Influence

Alberta Education is currently partaking in a curriculum redesign to determine what skills, knowledge, and attributes would be most beneficial for Alberta students in the future. However, Alberta Education has identified a variety corporations as "partners" in the redesign.

As teachers, it is essential that we have a major say in who has input over the curriculum that we will eventually teach. I would like to extend an invitation to all teachers, parents, students, and any other community members who would like to discuss the role corporations have in our curriculum.

Myself and a number of other teachers and community members are interested in organizing meetings/town halls in a variety of places across the province or, if that is too difficult, setting up a time where we can meet on-line (skype, google hangout, etc.)to chat about the relationship between corporations and curriculum.

It's essential that this conversation is ongoing and is heard by Alberta Education so we can make sure that the curriculum of the future remains in the hands of teachers, parents, students, and community members.

If you're interested in participating in this conversation please complete the form below.
