This event will be a chance for a team of 6 motivated, inspirational, and passionate climate leaders to help bring the climate movement to a whole new level. Those who take part in the 3.5 day gathering will be equipped to go and run their own workshops across the country, supporting organisers, and groups to gain the skills to do their work even better, as well as helping to build new local groups. At the event we will learn about and practise movement building, campaign skills and strategies. And we will share and explore important skills such as storytelling, leadership, facilitation, and building strong teams.
We welcome a diversity of applications with different backgrounds, experiences, communities and personalities. You may consider yourself an activist, an organiser, a teacher, a trainer already or something completely different, however, to be selected, you will need to be:
- passionate about social justice issues
- have a desire to help other activists/leaders and organisers with the work that they are doing or want to do as part of the climate movement
- have a good level of understanding and communicating English to receive the training (although we will have French speaking support)
- have a good level of understanding and communicating French in order to share the training further.
- committed to living in France for at least the next 12 months.
350.org offers the training free of cost but sets a few expectations from participants. The climate movement urgently needs more leaders from around France and the aim of the workshop is to not only identify and train those very leaders but for them to spread their skills and support other leaders who cannot join us in Paris. We expect the participants to deliver similar trainings to local leaders from their own regions at least by the end of the year 2012 while remaining committed overall for 6 months (and beyond if you like!) after the training to help deliver the following stages of T4T across France. As part of this, we would expect you to continue engaging with the network in a mutually beneficial way to strengthen the environmental movement in the country and for this, we encourage participants to set up 350 local groups (more on this can be found at local.350.org).
As said above, the training will be predominantly conducted in English by 350.org (with French speaking support) and accommodation, food, will all be covered. We may also be able to support travel costs if selected participants are unable to cover this.
Please fill out this form carefully. The final selection of the applicants will be based mainly on this form, although we may also wish to speak to you on the phone to help make a final decision. The final deadline for filling this application form is 18th September 2012, although we encourage applications to come in as soon as possible as we will be looking at them on a rolling basis. For any questions either regarding the application or training please write to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Apart from that, all we need is you. So if you feel ready to help step up this fight to overcome the climate crisis, then please apply here. We look forward to reading your submissions!
