Awards - There will be 3 awards given to the best floats that are decorated to this years theme will be decided by our guest judges. They will have a banner that will distinguish who the winners are during that parade and we will need a float representative available to receive prize money and photo for recognition available.
PLEASE NOTE - Check-in is important. We are only judging those who register with us. It helps with the time of our judges and starting the parade on time. Thank you! On the night of the parade, please check in with the coordinator in the parking lot of the Van Buren Public Library, there will be an event member there to guide you where to line up.
RULES - 1) Please Don't Throw Candy. If you want to pass out candy have a walker do that on each side for safety reasons. We have several issues of kids in the street where floats had to stop.
2) NO SANTA in your float... we have a special Santa that will be present at the end of the parade. Multiple Santa's confuse children.
3) Your display must be Christmas themed. This year the theme is "Holiday in Whoville" which coordinates with our annual downtown theme Holiday in Whoville. The correct themed floats will be the only ones judged. So please check-in. When applying please send your description of your intended design, pics if possible. After submitting your entry, please wait 48 hours for an approval email from our event committee.
4) We welcome riding groups of all kinds; just please register your riding club so we can have correct name for publications. Also total number of cars, jeeps, 4-wheeler, utility terrain vehicle, motorcycles, horses, etc.
We want everyone to enjoy the Christmas Season and have a great time in Historical Van Buren.
We want to thank everyone who participates and makes our parade one of the best in Crawford County.
